STOVE ROPES
Stove rope is used to form a heat resistant smoke tight seal in a variety of chimney applications. Its mainly used for sealing the stove door and glass and can also be used for sealing the connection between the flue pipe and the stove as well as sealing the flue plate and brick.
It prevents combustion gases escaping and oxygen being drawn into the stove and flue which would effect the operation and efficiency of your burner.
The rope is made to the highest quality and standards however we recommend you check it on a regular basis for wear over time and if there are any obvious cracks or defects you should replace it.
How to install the rope
We recommend that you remove the door on your stove and lay it flat on a sheet as it will be dirty remove the old rope clean the surface were the adhesive is going. Then cut the stove rope to the correct length by applying the seal tape to the part of rope that needs cutting and cut in the middle of the seal as this will prevent the stove rope from fraying. Apply the adhesive then place the rope on top. Leave for an hour or until the adhesive has set then put the door back on close it and leave for a few hours (overnight is best) to make sure it has made a perfect seal.
