🔍 What Is Stove Rope Used For?

Stove rope (also known as fire rope or seal rope) is an essential consumable used to create a heat-resistant seal around:

  • Stove doors

  • Glass panels on stove fronts

  • Flue pipes or flue joints

  • Access hatches or ash pan covers

This ensures no air escapes (or enters) the combustion chamber unintentionally, resulting in:

  • Improved stove efficiency

  • Better control of the burn

  • Increased safety

  • Reduced fuel use

✅ Key Features:

  • 🔥 Heat Resistant to 650°C – Suitable for all domestic wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves.

  • 🧱 Dense, Woven Construction – Flexible yet strong, built to handle regular use and repeated heating cycles.

  • 🖤 Stylish Matte Black Finish – Blends seamlessly into most stove types and door frames.

  • 🔧 Easy to Cut & Fit – Can be trimmed to the perfect size with scissors or a knife.

  • 🎁 Free 100mm End Tape Included – For securing the ends of the rope and avoiding fraying.

🛠 How to Install:

  1. Remove your stove door and old rope seal.

  2. Clean the groove thoroughly to remove soot, glue, or debris.

  3. (If chosen) Apply the glue in a thin line inside the groove.

  4. Press the rope firmly into the groove, working from one end.

  5. Trim to fit and secure with the included end tape.

  6. Allow glue to cure (if used) for at least 12 hours before use.

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • This product is not suitable for use in direct contact with flames – such as cooking or grill surfaces.

  • Do not get rope wet – Vermiculite or ceramic fibre ropes are not designed to absorb moisture and may lose integrity.

  • Store in a cool, dry place prior to use.

TIME TO CHANGE YOUR GAS FIRE ACCESSORIES?

We recommend that you should change your gas fire coals, logs pebbles at least once every 2 years or as they become discoloured and worn. Gas fire manufacturers will normally insist that you use their specific brand of coals. Despite this, thousands of homes every year use non-standard ceramics on their gas fires without any issues.
