How to Measure Replacement Fire Bricks for a Wood Burning Stove
Where it is safe and practical, remove the existing brick or board and measure it. Record width, height and thickness in millimetres, plus the overall shape.
Unusual shapes are easier to order if you keep a paper template or a clear drawing. Do not treat a similar-looking stove as proof of size.
For custom pieces, use our cut-to-size vermiculite service. Also see Vermiculite Boards.
FAQs
Should I measure in inches?
Use millimetres so the cut matches the existing lining.
What if the brick has crumbled?
Measure the remaining piece and the space it sat in. A template of the space can help.
