How to Replace a Broken Stove Fire Brick

A cracked or crumbling fire brick is usually replaced with a piece of the same size and thickness. Measure the old brick or the space it occupied, in millimetres.

Do not modify the appliance to force a different lining to fit. Where the stove manufacturer gives lining instructions, follow those.

Measure using our measuring guide, then order from Vermiculite Boards or the cut-to-size service.

FAQs

Can I run the stove with a missing brick?

A damaged or missing lining can affect the firebox. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance and replace the piece.

Do I need the same material as the original?
