A coal-effect fire uses a traditional ceramic coal appearance. A coals-and-logs option adds log-effect pieces for a different fuel-bed look.
Choose the appearance that complements the fireplace — many Victorian and traditional settings use coal-effect, while some rooms prefer a mixed coals-and-logs bed. Suitability of the burner itself still depends on opening measurements and fuel type.
